Free software for amateur astronomer
COELIX APEX
VERSION 3.128

For Windows 32 bits and 64 bits           Author: Jean Vallières

This free astronomy software lets you print detailed sky maps that can show a total of more than 15 million stars and 28,000 deep sky objects, as well as the trajectories of planets, comets and thousands of asteroids.

COELIX allows you to construct and display the visual fields obtained with any eyepiece, camera and telescope to be able to check in advance how celestial objects can be framed, to possibly photograph or observe them.

Designed for the amateur astronomer, COELIX also generates precise astronomical ephemeris (planet satellites, eclipses, occultations, etc.) and catalogs with selection criteria. A search engine allows you to find a celestial object in order to obtain its ephemeris, its views or related graphics.

COELIX can produce tables and a graphic almanac that show all the phenomena that can occur during an entire year, a month, a night or any other period chosen by the user.

With its virtual planetarium functions, it contains a multitude of views, tables, graphs and animations to view and analyze celestial phenomena from any observation site on Earth. You can choose a site from a list or configure and add your own site.

COELIX contains a planner which gives the observability conditions of objects or phenomena during a night. This planner can put these objects in order of the best time to observe them and can even make Messier marathon lists suitable for any location. Phenomena can be exported to calendar applications as ics or iCal files for reminders.

Also, COELIX is capable of controlling several models of motorized telescopes with equatorial mounts, directly or using the ASCOM platform.
