Check for future updates
As the software continues to evolve, you will be able to download newer updates. In the software, you can click Check for Updates from the main menu.
Discovering Coelix
When you first use COELIX, you should go around the software and try all the available functions by clicking the buttons on the various pages: The Observer's Guide, The Moon, The Solar System, Stars and Deep Sky. Consider using the Help in the software and click on the column headers in the tables for description of their contents. Also try the Search Engine, a very powerful tool for finding celestial bodies and display their ephemeris. Finally, you can try editing and printing sky maps and graphic almanacs. You will thus discover the various features of COELIX.
Setting the time and the observation station
When using COELIX for the first time, the default observation station is Montréal, the software displays the time in standard time (winter time) and assumes that Windows time is also in standard time. You can easily change these defaults so that the phenomena be displayed correctly for your own observation station. These changes will be retained.
